In 2013, Irkutsk oil company increases oil supplies via ESPO by 1.3 times

In 2013, Irkutsk oil company increases (INK) oil supplies via ESPO by 1.3 times to 3 million tons. The volume will be one third of the total volume planned for transporting via ESPO to the port of Kozmino in 2013, i.e. 21 million tons, compared to 16.2 million tons in 2012, including over 2.2 million tons from INK deposits.

The CCO of INK S. Nastorbursky says that after the launch of the second stage of ESPO, the period of oil transporting decreased from 9 to 1 day. ‘When supplying to the first stage of ESPO-1by railway from the station of Skovorodino of the Zabaikalye railway to Kozmino, the transporting period was 9 days. The launch of the second stage gives an opportunity to load in tankers nearly the whole oil volume injected to the line by the date of the tanker loading.

Since the start of oil transporting in January 2011, INK has loaded to ESPO for transporting over 3.5 million tons, and awaits loading of the 4-million ton in the end of March.

Transneft analysts think that ESPO oil can get marker status by enlargement of oil supplies to the global market and admission of the sort by the market moderators due to high quality and stability in supplies to foreign markets. Within 5 years ESPO oil can become a domestic indicator for calculation of global prices. Most of tanker batches of 2012 was dispatched from Kozmino to Japan (30%), China (25%), to the USA (18%), South Korea, Thailand and the Philippines (6 million tons ), Singapore and Indonesia (2.5%), and Taiwan and Malaysia (less than 1%).
