Norilsk Nickel has launched the first start-up complex at Talnakh plant

GMK Norilsk Nickel has put into experimental-industrial operation the first start-up complex of the Talnakh processing plant after its reconstruction that increases nickel contents in concentrate.

The investment into the first stage of reconstruction made up 3 bln roubles. The volume of the planned investment into the project of the Talnakh plant is 43 bln roubles. This is the amount without the third start-up complex.

The company plans to launch the second start-up complex in 2016. After its launch the plant’s capacity will increase from 7.5 mln tons to 10 mln tons. The decision on the launch of the third start-up complex will be made this year. It might be launched in 2018 and that will allow to increase the plant’s capacity by 2.2 times to 16.5 mln tons of ore processing a year.
