Chelyabinsk Zinc plant increased production volume by 6%

Chelyabinsk zinc plant (CHZN), the largest Russian producer of high-quality zinc and alloy on its base has summed up the operating results for January-March 2014.

The plant produced 44 503 tons of Special High Grade commercial zinc and zinc-based alloy in Q1, 2014. It is by 6% more year-on-year (41 878 tons). 58% of the metal was sold on the Russian market (Q1 2013 – 76%).

“Nova Zinc” LLP produced 8 756 tons of zinc in concentrate in Q1, 2014 (+25% y-o-y, 7 003 tons), lead in concentrate – 1.559 tons (+59% y-o-y, 1 004 tons). Nova Zinc belongs to the same group of people, who own OJSC “CZP”.
