Total may sell its stake in the Kharyaga PSA to Zarubezhneft.

"Zarubezhneft" and the French oil company Total were in talks about a possible purchase of 40% stake owned by the French company in the Kharyaga PSA, the main problem for the Russian company was to find the money on the deal, "the Vedomosti" wrote on Wednesday, citing sources.

According to the publication, if the deal goes through, the package of the state company will grow to 60%. A source close to Total added that the companies are discussing the possibility of more active participation of "Zarubezhneft" in the activities of the PSA, but did not rule out the possibility of selling the package in the future. Another source close to the Kharyaga PSA confirmed the negotiations on the active involvement of Russian companies in the project.
