Gazprom to conduct monitoring of shale gas market to decide on Shtokman

The extraction of shale hydrocarbons is a new industry, thus it needs special attention, the deputy Director of National Energy Safety Fund, Aleksei Grivach reports. As there is no experience in development and risk management, the situation constantly changes. Initially the USA was not interested in the new industry, then the world-scale revolution happened, after that the failure in Poland occurred and all the discussions concentrated on America as the prospective territory for large-scale extraction of shale oil and gas.
