EVRAZ KGOK improves geological survey

Mobile geophysical well logging system “Quarry-2M” has been launched at EVRAZ KGOK. Modern geology-prospecting equipment is meant for iron determination at ore production planning stage.

The new station enables to carry out an investigation of drilling-and-blusting wells at a depth of up to 45 meters. The system takes about 150 measurements in each well during 1 minute. The measurement data is transferred to the computer. It handles the information and provides diagrams of magnetic susceptibility logging with mapping contours of ore body. The investigation of the horizon is carried out with a special instrument, which is placed into drilling-and-blasting wells. Unattended station will be used at the current quarries of EVRAZ KGOK – Glavnoye, Zapadnoye and Severnoye.
