Increase of steel products demand in Russia to start not earlier than in 2015, when active stage of preparation for World Football Championship-2018 begins

In the fourth quarter of 2013, Severstal reduced steel production by 7% to 3.8 million tons. The same rate in the third quarter of 2013 was 4 million tons. The decrease of the production is connected with repair at one of Cherepovets metallurgic plant’s converters, the company reports.

Consolidated sales of steel products grew by 2% as compared with rate in the previous quarter, and sales of Russian Steel’s products increased by 4% against the background of total recovery of market conditions. The share of value-added products in the structure of company’s consolidated sales made up 49%.

In 2013, production made up 15.7 million tons that is by 4% more than in 2012. The consolidated sales of steel products grew by 4%.
