In June, West-Siberian MC will cease steel plates production

In June, West-Siberian MC (Evraz ZSMC) will cease the plate rolling shop for steel plates production. One of the reasons is the launch of new mills in European Russia and underloading of the rolling capacities of ZSMC. Earlier the number of thick plates producers was low and the sheet rolling mill of ZSMC was entirely loaded, by approximately 0.5 million tons annually. Recently they were launched in European Russia 2 new sheet rolling mills, they are underloaded now, and it operates in the Ukraine a mill with yield outstripping the demand by 1.5 times.
