Industrial gas flow at the Turkmen deposit

There is a strong industrial gas flow from the exploratory well at the perspective gas bearing site Jurji. The site is located in the Mary district in the south-east of Turkmenistan near the Galkynysh deposit.

It happened when the first exploratory well was drilled at the depth of 4,614-4,618 m. The daily output of the well made up 1 mln cubic m.

Later this rate increased at the upper layer, that shows large gas reserves. Currently the gas dynamics research works go on at this site. In future research works will be held in this area so as to determine the borders of the new deposit.

The Galkynysh deposit is 15 km off this deposit.

The reserves of the Galkynysh deposit (with the reserves of the Yashlar deposit) are assessed at 26.2 trln cubic m of gas, taking into account the Garakel deposit – to 27.4 trln cubic m.
