Length of gas transportation system of Russia reached 171.2 thousand km

​In 2015 Gazprom worked actively on the development of the gas pumping system of Russia, as a result of which its length reached 171.2 thousand km, the deputy chairman of Gazprom, V. Markelov, said.

250 compressor stations with the total capacity of 46.2 thousand mW compress gas.

Gazprom went on active works on the development of the Single system of gas supply of Russia – the construction of the Bovanenkovo-Ukhta-2 gas pipeline was held. Unique domestic pipes with the diameter of 1,420 mm are used for its construction. In 2015 the linear parts with the total length of about 133 km were put into operation.

Currently the first branch of the gas pipeline is fully constructed, gas is pumped by it. The length of the Bovanenkovo-Ukhta site is about 1,100 km, project productivity is up to 140 bln cubic m of gas a year. The length of the Ukhta-Torzhok is about 1,300 km, project capacity is 90 bln cubic m of gas a year. In 2016 it is planned to complete the construction of the 2nd branch of the linear part.
