Gazprom will be able to sell gas by 30% cheaper than FTS tariff

The Government is ready to partially liberalize the internal market for Gazprom. The company will get the opportunity to compete for the internal market more actively, and the state will be able to improve the economic situation via reduction of expenses of the gas consumers. Time will tell whether this initiative will be interesting to Gazprom itself on the background of the freezing of tariffs.

The Ministries of the Economy and of Energy and the Federal Tariffs Service are ready to give Gazprom the opportunity to give its consumers a discount from the level of the regulated gas price. Such suggestions have been elaborated within the bounds of the new forecast of social and economic development presupposing the freezing of the tariffs of the natural monopolies at the level of 2013 until 2016. The next stage of discussion of the Gazprom’s discounts will happen in the Ministry of the Economy on September 23rd, 2013.
