Rosneft sustains oil losses in pipelines

The mutual claims of Rosneft and Transneft keep growing. Rosneft has again decided to bring up the issue of oil losses in the pipelines. Igor Sechin claims that Rosneft loses billions of rubles and Transneft which conducts no extraction sells 1 million tons of oil per year. The pipeline monopoly assures, it understates the losses in favour of the oil company, Kommersant reports.

Kommersant obtained the letter of Igor Sechin to the leaders of the Ministry of Energy, Russian Federal Service for Ecological, the Technical and Atomic Supervision Agency,the  Federal Antimonopoly Service, the Federal Tariff Service and Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology. The Head of Rosneft claimed he was against the actual loss recording system in oil transportation via the system of oil pipelines and criticized Transneft for high losses. It is said in the letter that the analysis of “the actual reports” conducted by Rosneft had revealed that in the first half of 2013 the losses during oil transportation via the supply pipelines of Rosneft made up 0.185% and via the system of Transneft – 0.3%. Rosneft believes, this is the reason why it has received by 1.5 billion RUR less than it was expected in the first half of the year..
