Stanislav Pritchin: Turkish Stream is important for Russia, but not vital

Project of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline is important and interesting for Russia, but not vital, as the country has an alternative for the supply of its gas to Europe, bypassing the Ukraine. This was said by researcher at the Center for Central Asia and Caucasus Institute of Oriental Studies Stanislav Pritchin.

"Russia needs Turkish Stream, but its implementation is no longer a matter of vital necessity, as, for example, a year ago, "- Pritchin said to the Trend.

"If before the construction of Turkish Stream was in fact the only possible way out of Russia to the European market, bypassing the Ukraine, now it has an investment agreement on construction of the second stage of Nord Stream, and with the participation of major European companies," – Pritchin added.
