LNG to be freed from additional charges from Jan 1st 2016

​Yesterday at the planned meeting the Cabinet of Ministers of the Ukraine approved the draft law on the cancellation of the additional import tax from Jan 1st 2016, the Ministry of Economic Development reports referring to the Minister, A. Abromavichus.

As we promised, from Jan 1st 2016 the 5% and 10% temporary import tax, which helped us to stabilize the Government’s payment balance, will be cancelled, the minister said.

The respective draft law will be submitted to the Supreme Rada soon.

Abromavichus said the temporary import tax was applied as one of the tools to reach the macroeconomic stabilization. In particular, due to the introduction of this measure there is an improvement of the payment balance and softening of the consequences of instability of external markets for the Ukrainian economy.

The entrepreneurs continually asked the Government to cancel this fee.
