Rosgeologiya to assess gold resources of a perspective ore hub in Khakasiya

​Rosgeologiya has started research works for gold at the Balyksu-Izassky ore hub which is located in the Askizsky district of Khakasiya in-between the rivers Balyksu and Izas. The total area of study will make up 190 sq km, depth -250 m.

The object is studied in the framework of the state contract and financed from the federal budget. The client is the Department for Subsoil Use in the Central-Siberia district.

Rosgeologiya will make a map of gold content of the Balyksu-Izassky site with the inset maps for perspective sites, find out mineralized zones and ore bodies at the gold bearing sites and determine their main parameters. Geologists will also study the contents and technological characteristics of ore and will work out a rational scheme of their enrichment. Forecast ore resources will be assessed under P1 and P2 categories.

When holding the assessment geologists will stick to the minimal gold content at the mineralized zones of 1.2-1.5 g/t at the open extraction, and 3-4 g/t for underground development.

It is planned to complete the contract by the end of 2017.
