Akim of the Mangistau region hopes that the region to be in list of contenders for refinery construction

The Akim of the Mangistau region, Alik Aidarbaev has expressed his hope that, taking into account oil and gas producing specifics, the region will be in list of contenders for the construction of a refinery, which the President of Kazakhstan has ordered to be built.

“Currently, a working team on this project's reasoning was created by my order. The team includes scientists, famous oil workers, economists, who work with archive recording and take into account modern conditions and future perspectives,” – A.Aidarbaev said.

Earlier, in 2009, the possibility of the  construction of a fourth refinery was announced. The Caspian oil-processing plant in the Mangistau region was planned to be constructed by 2012. KazMunaiGas and Chinese holding company CITIC Group should finance it.
