Prirazlomnaya produced 10 mln barrels of oil
10 mln barrels of oil have been produced at the Prirazlomnaya deposit in the Pechora Sea. The “Mikhail Ulyanov” tanker left with a lot of oil from the platform on March 10th. This lot has become the 22nd from the moment of putting the Prirazlomnaya platform into operation.
Oil shipment extracted at the platform is held by two Arc6 tankers of ice class – Mikhail Ulyanov and Kirill Lavrov. Both were constructed in Saint-Petersburg and meant to provide all-year oil shipment extracted at the deposit.
In December 2015 the Prirazlomnaya platform shipped a millionth ton of oil. The target extraction at the deposit was recently reduced from 5.5 to 4.8 mln tons a year. The period of reaching this rate was postponed from 2021 to 2022.
The Prirazlomnaya platform is the only project at the Russian Arctic shelf where commercial oil extraction is held. The platform is unique for Russia, the only oil platform able to stand ice pressure.
The Prirazlomnaya platform’s recoverable reserves exceed 70 mln tons.
