Import in Russian oil industry should decrease from 56% to 20% in 4-6 years
Import of equipment in the oil industry is expected to decline from 56% to 20% in the next 4-6 years. This opinion was expressed today by president of the Union of Russian Oil and Gas Porudcers Gennady Schmal.
"Speaking in general on the oil industry, we have today about 56% of imported equipment. This is on the price characteristics. There are some areas, where we don’t have dependence at all, for example, we provide ourselves with pipes for 99%, even though there was a time when we purchased them from the Germans, the Italians, the Turks, the Japanese,"- he said on the margins of the Russian petrochemical forum in Ufa.
At the same time, Schmal said that oil companies had never set a goal to make 100% import independence.
