Uzbek Almalyk mining and metallurgical plant to invest $101 million in extension of Kalmakyr

In 2015-2016, Uzbek Almalyk mining and metallurgical plant (AGMK) will invest $101.1 million in expanding open pit of the Kalmakyr deposit to involve its outbalance porphyry copper ores into development, a representative of the company reported on Tuesday.

The plant prepared a feasibility study of the project and will begin the implementation of the heap leaching process, as the most effective technology for the copper mining, in the second half of 2015, said the interlocutor.
