Rosneft buys rights for development of site in Brasilia for $55 million

The company will be the operator of the project in the Amazon river region. Rosneft is about to close a deal on acquisition of 55% shares in the Solimoes project from Brazilian company PetroRio for $55 million. The purchase of equity capital will enable the Brazilian unit of Rosneft Rosneft Brasil to get the status of operator of the project on development of hydrocarbons in the Amazon basin. The agreement was approved by the Brazilian regulator.
