The Azeri geologists claim that the reserves of the Shakh-Deniz deposit can be larger than they suggested before. The First Vice President of SOCAR for Geology, Geophysics and Deposits Development H. Yusifzade claims that Shakh-Deniz reserves can be 1.5 trillion cubic m. Perspective Azeri gas reserves can be increased from the current 2.65 trillion cubic m to 6 trillion cubic m. Thus, Azerbaijan has large gas potential and prospects for new deposits discovering.
