Total freezes cooperation with Lukoil but continues Yamal LNG project with cost of $27 bln

It is about the development of the Bazhenov Suite in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area. In May 2014 Lukoil and Total signed an agreement on the foundation of a JV in which the Russian company would hold 51%, Total – 49%.

In general the announcement of Total’s head doesn’t contradict his promise to the management of the Russian subdivision of Total that sanctions wouldn’t influence on the development of the already launched joint projects. It was said in the process of negotiations with the Minister of Energy of Russia, A. Novak, last week.
