Šefčovič: Nord Stream-2 not to be financed or supported by EU

The Vice-President of the EU Energy Committee, Maroš Šefčovič, said that the EU would not finance Nord Stream-2.

The project of the construction of Nord Stream-2 doesn’t meet the EU legislation in the part of the diversification of sources, suppliers or routes of the acceptance of resources, he said. The project doesn’t open new sources of gas acceptance for the EU. On the existing rules, gas supplies to the EU are not to be held by the extraction companies.
