Foreign Policy: LNG from USA to strengthen position of Gazprom in Europe

Widely publicized appearance of American liquefied gas in Europe may paradoxically strengthen the Russia's position on the European market of "blue fuel". This was written by the Washington’s Foreign Policy.

A few years ago, the Foreign Policy writes, when America decided to become a major player on the LNG market, the prospects for this type of gas transportation seemed to be rosy. But in the last two years, the situation changed in the strongest terms.

The cost of LNG was proved to be more strongly tied to the price of oil than its producers would like. In addition, the demand for LNG in Asia, which was then its main customer, is growing not intensively at all.
