Kazakhstan expects increase in oil production to 86 million tons in 2017
The increase in oil production to 86 million tons in 2017 and to 104 million tons - in 2020 is expected in Kazakhstan, the country's First Deputy Minister of Energy Uzakbai Karabalin said on Wednesday.
"It should be noted that, despite a decline in the oil production the reporting period, in the coming years increase in the oil production in Kazakhstan is planned: for example, in 2017 we expect to increase the oil production to 86 million tons, and in 2020 to 104 million tons," - Karabalin said at the briefing.
According to him, this growth will be "mainly connected with extension (of the production) at the Tengiz field and the resumption of the offshore oil production at the Kashagan field".
