Gazprom to invest $3.6 bln into gas sector of Belarus
Until 2020 Gazprom plans to invest up to $2.5 bln into the development of the gas pumping system of Belarus. The additional $1.1 bln will be invested into the increase of capacities of the underground storages.
Russia and Belarus are said to be closely cooperating in the oil and gas sector. Gazprom holds a 575.5 km long Yamal-Europe gas pipeline’s site.
The nuclear power plant issue will be discussed at the President Putin’s visit to Belarus. The largest investment project – construction of the Belarus nuclear power plant with the capacity of 2,400 mW in the Grodnensky district with the value of $10 bln – has been realized since 2012.
V. Putin will participate in the meeting of the Supreme State Council of Belarus on Feb 25th 2016 in Belarus. Mr. Putin will meet with the President Lukashenko. They will discuss the further development of the Russia-Belarus relationships and important international issues.
