SOCAR and Transneft signed a transit agreement on Baku-Novorossiysk from March 1st

SOCAR and Transneft have signed an agreement on Azeri oil pumping by the Baku-Novorossiysk oil pipeline in 2016, the advisor to the President of Transneft, press-secretary, I. Demin, said.

The pumping will start from March 1st.

It was initially planned to pump about 1.3 mln tons. However, as the pumping will start from March 1st, less oil will be shipped. A monthly volume will be specified.

The agreement is similar to that of past years, he said.

In 2015 SOCAR shipped 1.2 mln tons of oil by the “northern” pipeline. Due to the absence of the agreement with Transneft for 2016, SOCAR in Jan-Feb 2015 didn’t ship raw materials by this route.
