Ukrainian plant n.a.Lenin to be upgraded

In 2014, Metinvest of Rinat Akhmetov will invest roughly $85 million into the upgrade of the Mariupol metallurgical plant n.a.V.I.Lenin, the plant’s general director, Yuri Zinchenko reported.

According to the plant’s director, the upgrade is planned overhaul of three sinter machines, vessel №1, and the repair of mixer and full replacement of the vessel’s gas treatment.

“Essentially, I would call this the construction of new vessel. Along with the repairs, we will fulfill one of ecological events, provided for by the city program – full replacement of the vessel’s gas treatment. We plant to switch over to converter steel completely, so now we invest serious money in our business,” - Yuri Zinchenko reported.
