Record waterless oil influx received at the Samotlor field

In mid-April, two new horizontal wells at the Samotlor field gave a record inflow of oil with the aggregate rate of 880 tons per day with water cut rate less than 5%. Such high values ​​were noted before, eight years ago, in the drilling of the Ust-Vakhskaya area.

Currently, at the site, called Priobskaya area, the field operator Samotlorneftegaz (a subsidiary of Rosneft) conducted drilling of the third well. All three wells were performed without fracturing. "In this case, we just didn’t need it that today a rarity, - says head of technology management and engineering drilling of Samotlorneftegaz Nikolai Bondarev. - The total recoverable reserves of the deposits can be up to 1 million tons of hydrocarbons.
