MMK reduces emissions of sinter production.

In 2015 the first system of the new complex to clean sintering gas with sulfur catching unit number 2 MMK is planned to put into operation. Completion of the unit reconstruction is scheduled for 2017. Total cost for the project will amount to more than 3 billion roubles (including more than 1.6 billion roubles in 2015). Upgrade installation of the sulfur catching unit number 2 will significantly improve the air quality of Magnitogorsk by reducing dust emissions – by 900 tons per year, of sulfur dioxide - by 7600 tons/year, of carbon oxide - by 16,000 tons/year, as well as emissions of highly toxic pollutants as benzo (a) pyrene, and dioxins.
