Moscow oil refinery plant has agreed with the rise of environmental fines

The Moscow oil refinery plant is ready to stand for the rise of fines for environmental pollution, however, on 2 conditions.

According to Y. Erokhin, chief ecologist of the plant, the opportunity of unfounded accusations of industrial enterprises in emissions should be eliminated. Mr. Erokhin insists on the foundation of a strong system of ecological monitoring which would cover dangerous production capacities in various regions of Russia.

He said that the funds collected as fines for environmental pollution are not always used for elimination of consequences of emissions. Such funds should be used for this particular purpose. Pronedra wrote that oil companies will have to insure ecological risks.
