Gas flaring in Eastern Siberia is up by 20%

In Q1, Eastern Siberia was a leader in gas flaring. The subsurface users of the region increased the volume of gas flaring by 20% against the same period last year – up to 2 billion cubic meters, is said in an analytical report “Associated petroleum gas production and processing in Russia”, prepared by “Rupekom”.

Gas flaring at the Vankor deposit of “Rosneft” is up by 24%. The share of “Vankorneft” in a total volume of flaring in the region is higher than in production: 73% against 60% in January-March 2013.
