Zhiltsov says at the Central Asian gas forum in Almaty that the plans of Turkmenistan for gas production and exports presuppose new deposits development and they’ll need the foreign production technologies for that. It’s connected with deeper bedding of hydrocarbons, higher pressure and temperature and high hydrogen sulfide content.

The most perspective for development are the deposits at the Caspian Sea shelf and the right coast of Amudariya. The growth in production and the enlargement in gas reserves have enabled Turkmenistan to actively participate in the discussion of the perspective pipeline projects. The most discussable projects are those for construction of Trans-Caspian gas pipeline and the pipeline via Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India.
