Lukoil’s head plans to visit Iran in September

Lukoil’s head, V. Alekperov, might visit Iran in September. Russian companies need to act quickly as competitors don’t wait, special representative of the President of Russia, director of the 2nd department of Asia of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Z. Kabulov, said.

Western companies have long been working in the direction of Iran. Large groups of businessmen weekly come there. Iran will be very choosy in this situation. Lukoil is also very active and in September V. Alekperov plans to visit Iran, Kabulov said.

Previously the deputy Minister of Oil of Iran, A.-Kh. Zamani Niya, said that the Russian oil companies hold active negotiations on participation in the country’s projects. Only Lukoil has officially confirmed that as yet. Teheran plans to attract investors by longer contracts. According to experts, the Iranian market is interesting for the Russian oil companies despite of the problems with financing as a result o sanctions.
