Will Rosneft replace Novatek in gas supplies to Nyagan GRES

Rosneft is going to supply gas to Nyagan GRES. The plant was officially launched on September 24th 2013, the Governor of Yugra, N. Komarova says. She does not state the precise volume of  supplies but confirms  the agreement in principle. This announcement intrigues: Nyagan GRES is fully provided by Novatek that closed in August 2012 the long-term contract for gas supplies with Fortum.

On September 24th, the President of Russia Putin and the President of Finland S. Niiniste participated in the launch ceremony of the Nyagan GRES constructed by Fortum. The first energy block with capacity of 420.9 MW was built and launched in commercial operation in April 2013. Siemens made the major part of equipment of the first energy block, including the gas and steam turbines and the generator.
