Low gas price to help Gazprom to strengthen on gas market of Europe

Gazprom tries to seize the gas market in Europe with the help of low prices of "blue fuel", the survey of consulting company Timera Energy notes.

The report notes that the increase by the Russian gas holding company of export supplies to European countries to a level that allows it to restrain the price of gas below $9-10 per million British thermal units (mmBtu), may force the European authorities to abandon to invest in infrastructure on transportation of liquefied natural gas.

The world oil market is strongly affected by the actions of Saudi Arabia, which dominates in the OPEC. The gas market has no "its own OPEC", but Russia has the key influence on it, the review notes, and also states that the influence of the Russian Federation is provided not only by the volume of the production and reserves, and but also by the fact that Gazprom is the key supplier of "blue fuel" to Europe, and in the medium term - to Asia too.
