The Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has called the transit of gas through the Ukraine unreliable. This opinion was expressed by the Foreign Minister on Tuesday, January 26.
"We couldn’t wait for a change of mood in Brussels concerning South Stream, and we began to look for an alternative, because Europe needs Russian gas and the Ukrainian transit is unreliable, you can make sure that every day," - said Lavrov.
He added that "the need for the direct access of Russian gas to the European Union is a reality that is shared by all".
