The Ukraine not to stand spot prices for gas – A. Miller
The chairman of Gazprom, A. Miller, said on Monday that the Ukraine is now receiving gas at a higher price than it is listed in the European spot sites. If the country is given the gas prices corresponding to the spot prices, the Ukraine won’t stand it, A. Miller thinks.
On Monday A. Miller commented on the question if the Ukraine has reasonable grounds to complain on the high prices for gas supplied from Russia. A. Miller said the price for the Russian gas is significantly lower than the spot price set in the continental Europe. On the British trade site last Friday the gas price reached $800/thousand cubic m, by almost twice exceeds the price at which Gazprom ships gas to the Ukraine in the framework of the long-term contracts.
