Rosneft discusses possibility of LNG supplies to India

Indian companies may become purchasers of liquefied natural gas from Rosneft’s project,the Far-Eastern LNG plant, the Russian company reports.

On Monday, Rosneft’s president Igor Sechin met the Indian Deputy Minister of Oil and Natural Gas Saurabh Chandra. The parties expressed satisfaction with the development of cooperation between Russia and India, including in the fuel and energy sector, and noted the strategic character of their partnership and great potential for the development of relations between Rosneft and Indian companies.

“Igor Sechin emphasized possible directions of the cooperation extension, particularly, Indian companies can become buyers of LNG from the project Far-Eastern LNG, which launch is scheduled for 2018-2019,” – the report says.
