Statoil receives permission to take part in Rosneft’s projects

Statoil has received limited permissions from the authorities of Norway to continue its work in joint projects with Rosneft. However, the Norwegian oil and gas company requires additional permits for financing and further development, Statoil reports.

The company recalls that a number of activities in relation to which Norway, the EU and the USA imposed sanctions against Russia, influence the business of Statoil, which together with Rosneft is a member of 4 offshore projects – the Magadan-1, Lisyansky and Kashevarovsky in the Sea of ​​Okhotsk and the Perseevsky license area in the Barents Sea. In addition, the scope of activities of the two companies is to develop increased viscosity oil fringe below the gas cap of the North-Komsomolsk site in the Yamal-Nenets autonomous district and to develop the Domanik deposits at the licensed areas of the Russian company in the Samara region.
