Gazpromneft and Wintershall sign agreement on joint study of methods to increase oil recovery

Today Gazpromneft and Wintershall Holding GmbH signed a cooperation agreement in the field of methods to enhance the oil recovery, which will allow them to maintain or increase the level of the oil production at mature fields. The companies agreed together to explore and improve the technology of chemical flooding using solutions of surfactants and polymers at the first stage, as well as to analyze project feasibility, which may take several years. During this time, the joint technical team of experts will conduct laboratory tests, hydrodynamic modeling and field tests to determine the most appropriate ratio of surfactants and polymers for the use at the oil fields of Gazpromneft.
