Japan is ready to take part in extension of LNG plant in Russia

LNG plant in the framework of the Sakhalin-2 project is currently the only active plant in Russia, its capacity is 9.6 million tons of LNG. Shareholders of the project are Gazprom with a share of 50% plus one share, Shell – 27.5% minus 1 share and Japanese Mitsui (12.5%) and Mitsubishi (10%). In February 2014, Gazprom and Shell signed a memorandum - road map, which envisaged the development of the documentation for the preliminary design of the third production line for the LNG production at Sakhalin-2.
