The Ukraine to be able to provide itself with natural gas during next 7 years

Neftegazdobycha’s general director, Igor Shchourov said during the 5th Ukrainian Energy Forum that the Ukraine would be able to fully meet its needs in gas during the next 5-7 years.

According to Igor Shchurov, it’s necessary to create a favourable economic environment for this, to attract investments and to apply new technologies. He noted that the traditional production of natural gas in the short term can provide a much more significant effect than development of unconventional hydrocarbon fields. The Neftegazdobycha’s head said that in this case we should take into account not only the volume of the gas produced, but also the timing of projects and the value of the product.
