Oil production in Volga water area may start from 2016

From 2016, the oil production may start in the Samara region, in Volga water area. Geophysical research is conducted there and sites for auction will be formed by results of this study, the Volga News reports.

The work on water area study began in the second quarter of 2013 and will be carried out during the next three years till the end of 2015. In this period, Samara Department on Subsoil Use will form a model of geological structure of studied territory under water, where sites with hydrocarbon reserves will be allocated and licensed in the future.
