Gazprom confirms absence of interest in recapitalization of the company
Gazprom confirms the lack of interest in recapitalization of the company, the official spokesman of the gas monopoly Sergei Kupriyanov reported.
The issue of recapitalization of Gazprom to finance the construction of the Power of Siberia gas pipeline was raised at the Presidential FEC Commission on June, 4.
However, later in June, the financial director of Gazprom Andrei Kruglov opposed the recapitalization. He stated on June 26th that this project requires not recapitalization, but a growth of tariffs and tax incentives, noted that the tariffs defrost can be one of measures of state support for the gas project. "Yes, we believe that this (the defrost) can be one of the measures of the state support for the construction of Power of Siberia,"- said Kruglov.
Then head of Gazprom Alexei Miller specified at the meeting of shareholders that the company didn’t appeal to the Government with a request to increase the gas tariffs in conjunction with the implementation of the Power of Siberia project.
