American 3M launches production of coatings for corrosion protection of oil and gas industry in Tatarstan.

The American company 3M has opened in the special economic zone of Alabuga in Tatarstan a plant for the production of corrosion-resistant liquid (CRL) coatings for the oil and gas industry, the press service of the President of Tatarstan informs.

In particular, a new enterprise "3M Volga" will produce liquid epoxy and polyurethane coatings for corrosion protection of oil and gas facilities. 3M completed its project on localization of production in the SEZ "Alabuga".

At the first stage of the "3M Volga" complex 2.5 million liters corrosion protection of CRL coatings are scheduled for release per year. The company plans to fully meet the needs of the Russian market in these products and to enter the markets of the CIS countries. Investments in the project amounted to 922 million roubles.
