​The Ukraine increased gas import from Russia to 80% in October 2015.

In total 1.7 bln cubic m of gas were imported in October 2015, Ukrtransgas reports.

1.4 bln cubic m of gas were imported from Russia, M. Belyavsky, head of the company’s press service said.

The rest supplies were held from Poland – 1.3 mln cubic m, Slovakia – 285.3 mln cubic m, Hungary – 13.5 mln cubic m.

Gas pumping rates from Russia made up 110 mln cubic m of gas a day, from Slovakia-14.3 mln cubic m of gas a day, Hungary and Poland – 0.6 mln cubic m of gas a day in total.

The Ukraine needs 19 bln cubic m of gas to pass the winter.

Now it purchases gas at a lowered price from Russia.
