In 2014, Belarus transferred almost $3 billion of oil duties to Russia

Amount of export duties on oil products, transferred by Belarus to the Russian budget in 2014, made up $2 959.9 million. In December, the amount of these fees to the Russian budget was minimal and amounted to $135.9 million.

Let’s recall, before and in 2014 Belarus was obliged to transfer the export duties on petroleum products, produced from Russian oil and exported outside the Customs Union, to the Russian budget. During the preparation of the agreement on creation of the Eurasian Economic Union, in spring of 2014 the Belarusian side initiated the abolition of the practice to transfer the export duties on oil products to the Russian budget. In May 2014, Moscow and Minsk agreed that from in 2015 Belarus will keep oil duties in the amount of $125 million in its budget ($1.5 billion per year).
