In 2015, oil-producing enterprises of the Sakhalin region extracted 16.7 million tons of oil. This is by 14.3% more than the production level in 2014.
"The island region produced 16.7 million tons of oil, including gas condensate. The level of 2014 was exceeded by 14.3%. The natural gas production increased by 0.3% and amounted to 28.1 billion cubic meters," - the regional Ministry of Economic Development reported.
