Russia to consider deal to give more than 50% share in some oil and gas deposits

Russia is ready to consider the possibility of providing China a share of over 50% in projects on development of oil and gas fields, except offshore projects. This was announced by the Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich at the Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum.

"We hadn’t received such requests for strategic fields, maybe because our Chinese friends understand that at this stage, it’s more comfortable for us to work in partnership 50%-50% or 51%-49%. It is rightly said that China never comes in confrontation with anyone, but protects its interests, works on the principles of comfort and loyalty for partners. I think this is a mutual psychological understanding, now it is better to act in this way. But if there is a request, we will seriously consider it and I currently don’t see political obstacles,"- he said.
